Team - Time to start thinking about Dad's 70th. We were talking about canoeing from Fraser to Noosa. So far as a rough plan I have us getting canoes and kayaks to Inskip Point and going down to Tin Can Bay. We then walk the Noosa Trail to the headwaters of the Noosa River at Camp 15 with probably 1 night on the way. Support people bring the canoes up from Harry's/Elanda. We then canoe down stopping to walk up to the Sandpatch. Canoe all the way to Noosa river mouth stopping at Elanda Point or Boreen Point on the way. We then walk from the River to the end of the Noosa National Park at Hell's Gates. Support people stay at the farm which is very central to the whole effort. Should take 7 - 10 days. Ahoo.
This would be around 13 July 2009, not that far away I suppose. It will be chilly. If the weather was fine, we could get the barge to Hook Point, then start from Hook Point. Official name is Cooloola Wilderness Trail, see http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks_and_forests/find_a_park_or_forest/cooloola_southern_great_sandy_national_park/
Map is at http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/media/parks_and_forests/parks/cooloola_south_map.pdf
I can't see exactly how to get across from Trail to Camp 15.
Let's see, Laura will be 11 by then and Hugh 8, they would probably like to join us for some sections somehow.

I am in, so long as knee holds out. Could we cycle?
Support should be heaps easier on the mainland, might need to use the UTE or a trailer for the Paj.
